“How to develop and publish quality research paper in High Impact Journals”
15th to 19th Feb.2022.
St.Vincent Pallotti College, Raipur keeps striving on not leaving any stone unturned so as to aim at upgrading its faculties to excel in the field of research by enhancing to fulfill its requirements. Acknowledging the spirit of FDP, St.Vincent Pallotti College organized 5 days Online Faculty Development Programme on “ How to develop and publish quality research paper in High Impact Journals” from 15th to 19th Feb.2022.
The objective of organizing and inviting highly renowned persons has been to meet the need of developing skills for writing a publishable research paper in High Impact Journals. The Faculty Development Program is an immensely beneficial event which provides a platform where teachers can interact and exchange their views. It also helps in getting insight into the various aspects of research and publication.
The Chief Guest and the keynote speaker for these five days faculty development program was Prof.K.L.Verma – the Vice Chancellor of Pt.Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur. .The two eminent resource persons for The Faculty Development Program were Prof. Rajeev Chowdhary- Head SoS in Law, Pt.Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur;and Prof. D.N.Sansanwal Former HOD & Dean, SOE Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyaly, Indore.
The event began with the welcome address by the Principal -Dr.Kuldeep Dubey who presented the brief history and accomplishments of the institution. He further added the essence of conducting this event. He also expressed his extreme happiness over the huge response from the participants who joined from all over the country.
The Vice Chancellor of Pt.Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur., Prof. K.L.Verma in his keynote address emphasized on the urge to publish quality papers in true terms of research rather than for the sake of fame. He also appreciated the efforts of the college for organizing this event so as to encourage not only the faculties but also those pursuing for research studies.
Day-1 Session (15th Feb.) commenced with the presentation of Prof. Rajeev Chowdhary on the topic: “Approach to Paradigm of a Research Scholar.” It comprised 18 parts of which he consecutively delivered in 3 phases of 2 hours each for 3 days. In the first phase, he discussed on meaning of terminology, types of approach, bibliometrics, ethics, proper research designs, use of academic language, etc. The session was highly applauded by the participants.
Day-2 Session (16th Feb.) resumed with the second phase of the topic which focused comprehensively with examples of use of appropriate language, grammar apps, and style of references, sources of information, citation index, citation analysis, etc.
Day-3 Session (17th Feb.) was highly informative as Prof. Chowdhary poured the vase of wisdom; flowing with the stream of- confidence interval, effect size, pre-test and control test groups. He introduced the several concepts of statistics and also the procedure of getting registered to ORCID, VIDWAN & Researcher ID, NCBI and suggested further the relevance, benefits and its necessity of having accounts for every researcher. It was very interactive session as the participants raised their queries and the expert promptly responded to them.
Day-4 Session (18th Feb.) witnessed the deliverance of Prof. D.N.Sansanwal on the topic: Paper writing. With this, he started in the form of an interrogative session and thus lectured through practically involving the participants. The practical approach of his lecture made the participants gain knowledge about the very basic of variables, title, influence or impact, etc.
Day-5 Session (19th Feb.) Prof. D.N.Sansanwal again began with the very basics of Mean, Median, Mode, and Hypothesis. Furthermore, he explained through various examples on every topic as well as threw light on simple techniques of writing paper, templates. The session ended with enormous satisfaction expressed by the participants.
Finally, as the next and the final step, Dr. Shraddha Verma delivered the valedictory note. She expressed that the Faculty Development Program provided a thorough understanding of the concept. It enriched knowledge, a deep understanding and clarity of the new development in this field. The FDP provided exposure to the participants and provided a chance to enhance their competencies in the subject area.
The coordinator of Faculty Development Program was Dr.Shraddha Verma and her team as well as the moderator was Mrs.Neetu Gupta. Zoom was the platform used and the session links, feedback links were shared every day. The registered participants were engaged through Whats App group and by email. E certificates were awarded to all registered participants.
Last, but not the least the vote of thanks was extended by the Vice Principal -Dr.G.Padma Gouri who expressed her gratitude to each and every one whose efforts would not have borne fruits without active support, cooperation and enthusiastic participation. The program ended on a highly positive note of the feedback received from the participants.
